Alcoholism Part 3

Praise the Lord everyone!

For the past two months, the wellness ministry has spoken about alcoholism. Now you need to know what can happen to your body when you drink excessively:

  • Anemia – Red blood cells in the blood that carry oxygen become low.
  • Cancer – Can affect mouth, esophagus, liver, and breast. The risk is higher if you also smoke.
  • Heart Disease – Blood clots  can lead to heart attacks, heart muscles can become weak, and stroke.
  • Cirrhosis – Scarring of the liver. Women are at a higher risk.
  • Dementia – Your brain shrinks. Alcohol in excess can speed this up resulting in a long list of issues.
  • Depression – Used to self-medicate to ease emotional pain.
  • Seizures – Can cause epilepsy, even in someone who doesn’t have it.
  • Gout – Formation of uric acid in joints, this is a painful condition.
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Infectious Diseases – Heavy drinkers are most likely to engage in risky sex and the result could be HIV, AIDS, STDs, or even infertility.
  • Nerve Damage – Called Alcohol Neuropathy; which produces numbness, pins and needles feelings in extremities, constipation, erectile dysfunction, and incontinence.
  • Pancreatisis – Inflamed pancreas can interfere with digestion, severe diarrhea, and abdominal pain; it is not fixable.

if you are drinking in excess, please make a sound decision to quit drinking and get help. These issues are serious. If you don’t take care of yourself, this will not only affect you health but will also affect your family. We were not designed to abuse our bodies this way and God has the answers to heal you and set you free, only if you want it.

There are scriptures to help you on your journey to good health and healing posted on the first two parts of this series. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).

Be blessed
