Smoking

Praise the Lord to all and happy New Year. I pray you are all making a conscious choice to get healthy and stay healthy. It’s a new year and God is letting us know that we have been entrusted to take care of our bodies in all areas as He has told us through His word.

To start off 2015, the topic will be smoking and the effects that it has on our health.

Saints of God, if you don’t smoke, do not start. This is a habit that can have negative consequences, some that can be long term. If you make a choice to begin smoking.  Ask yourself:

  • Why do I really want to smoke? Because it’s cool? There is nothing cool about putting hazardous chemicals in your body.
  • Want to see what it’s like? If you want to know, just look at someone you know that smokes. It ages you, smoke hangs on you and your clothes, and that person is setting themselves up for illnesses that they might not be healed from.
  • Tension healer? Don’t let anything push you to the point that you need a cigarette to relieve tension in your life.
  • To try to control your weight? Especially in teenage girls and women, God has the answer to control your weight through His word. Not through smoking something harmful to your health.

Stimulation, focus, improve concentration, boost energy levels when low, there are more safer and effective ways to obtain these than from smoking. In the months ahead, I will be giving information on the downsides to smoking, the different illnesses on your body (inside and out), ways to stop, and what’s inside cigarettes.

The best way to be smoke free is to not smoke at all. Here are some scriptures that will encourage you concerning this matter: 1 Corinthians 6:20 and 10:23, Hebrews 12:1, Galatians 6:8, 1 Peter 5:8, Philippians 2:13, Psalms 91:16, Proverbs 4:10, Colossians 3:17

Be Blessed
