The heart and related issues have been discussed in the last few topics on health. Here is one that a lot of people I found out didn’t know, including myself. I’m speaking about the four signs you may have clogged arteries. Each year in the United States more than 700,000 people suffer from some form of heart problems, mostly heart attacks. 400,000 people die from Coronary Heart Disease (CHD).

Here are the four signs:

  • Erectile Dysfunction: Men have a built-in warning system for silent CHD. When an erection becomes difficult or impossible, it can be a sign of clogged arteries in the pelvis that is present before you have a heart attack. If you and your partner are concerned about having sex, see your doctor for the root cause of your problem before you think all you need is that little blue pill.
  • Baldness: Severe baldness of the head strongly predicts the silent CHD at any age. Moderate baldness doubles the risk of dying from CHD in both sexes.
  • Ear crease: This might indicate clogged arteries by a crease in your earlobe. This crease runs diagonal from your ear canal to lower edge of earlobe. Research has found that this is a sign of silent CHD and may happen because of poor circulation including arteries of the heart.
  • Calf pain: Pain when you walk might mean clogged arteries. This is known as claudication atherosclerosis which can block leg arteries especially in smokers before CHD is diagnosed. The symptoms in your calf should be evaluated without delay.

This happened to me in March of this year, I held off because I thought it was just leg cramps. It got so bad that I could hardly walk. Went and saw the doctor as an emergency patient and had the pulse in my leg examined. I was sent to have blood flow measured and a dopler to confirm if this was what I had.

Praise God my test came back negative. Saints take it from me, from my personal experience see your doctor. Don’t wait, I thought it was from the bad winter we had. Doctor put me on calcium, magnesium, and tonic water to relieve the pain and be able to walk. Let me tell you, after three weeks I was back to walking normal and I still take daily vitamins and tonic water if needed.

It is important that heart disease be diagnosed as early as possible. Because number four (calf pain) is reversible with fewer animal products, more plant based foods, and walking at least 30 minutes a day. Anyone with any of these four signs of CHD should know your numbers (blood pressure, cholesterol, fasting glucose). Ask your doctor if you should be checked for heart disease.

Best foods to prevent this:

  • Give up Pepsi and Coke, it’s a lot harder than it sounds for a lot of us. Just mix it up with more water to wean off. Drink more juice, water, and ice tea.
  • Veggies: Without all the extra stuff we put in and on them. Nothing greasy like bacon and fat back.
  • Spices and herbs.
  • Meat as naked as possible, such as organic without the hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics.
  • Coffee in moderation, drink tea.
  • Fish, chicken, turkey: these are the best meats to eat.

God gives us a warning system to let us know if something is wrong in our temple. Do not shrug it off, it could save your life. Here are some scriptures to bless you: Psalms 28:7, 31:24, 73:26, Proverbs 4:23, 17:22
